Antiparos has an indigenous population of around 1,000, so a quiet stress free holiday is practically guaranteed. However, from May until October, it is the holiday choice for the most discerning of visitors, many of whom being Greeks from the mainland, which is testament in itself.
Although small & un-commercialised, during the summer you can walk to over 40 Tavernas and Bars in the Islands' main town, also called Antiparos.
In a nutshell, the town has one long High Street, starting at the small town quay, meandering up to the town square and medieval castle, (Kastro).
All along the High Street you will find shops for everything you need for day to day living, including: ATM "Hole in the Wall" cash points; Supermarkets; Pharmacy; Medical Centre; etc, etc. ........the discovery of which is all part of the very special fun of the Antiparos "experience".
In truth, to get to Antiparos is not too easy, but this is one of the charming reasons why it has such a vibrant, friendly, yet un-commercialised & un-pretentious atmosphere,
From Piraeus Harbour, Athens, (one of the worlds largest and busiest passenger
Ports), you take a 4 hour boat trip to the island of Paros, www.bluestarferries.com & then a small ferry to Antiparos 3 km away.
